New licence for the RAI Android apps and the models they download: personal use on your own devices, no copying, reverse engineering or extracting model weights, automatic updates, open-source notices in the app.
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is between you and Aerendir Mobile Inc. ("Aerendir", "we", "us") and covers the RAI Assistant and RAI Inbox Android applications, any other RAI application we distribute, the models and other files they download, and their updates (together, the "App"). The App is distributed by Aerendir directly, including as an APK from aerendir.ai, so this EULA, and not an app store's default licence, governs your use of it. By installing or using the App you agree to this EULA and to the Consumer Terms of Service, which also apply and take precedence if they conflict.
Subject to this EULA, Aerendir grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use the App on Android devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the Consumer Terms of Service and the Usage Policy. The App is licensed, not sold. Aerendir and its licensors keep all rights not expressly granted.
Except where applicable law gives you a right we cannot exclude, you may not, and may not allow anyone else to:
The App ships with, or downloads on request, language models, embedding models and related files that run on your device (the "Models"), which may include models developed or customised by Aerendir and models derived from third-party foundation models. Where an on-device version of "RAI Own" is offered, the RAI Own acknowledgement and rules in the Consumer Terms of Service and the Usage Policy apply to it as well. The Models are part of the App and licensed to you under this EULA for use only through the App on your device. You may not extract, copy, redistribute, host, serve, modify, fine-tune or benchmark the Models outside the App. Where a Model is subject to an upstream licence, that licence is listed in the App's open-source notices and applies in addition to this EULA; if it conflicts with this EULA for that Model, the upstream licence controls.
Model files can be large. You are responsible for any data charges and for the storage they use. The App may replace Models with newer ones at any time.
The App asks for Android permissions only when a feature needs them, and explains why at that moment. Depending on the App and what you enable, it may read email you connect, SMS, contacts, calendar, microphone audio, motion state, and files you choose. Data the App stores on your device is kept in private, app-sandboxed storage, encrypted at rest where the App says so. Data stays on your device unless you use a cloud feature, in which case the Privacy Policy describes exactly what leaves the device and where it goes. Uninstalling the App removes its local data; data held in your account is governed by the Privacy Policy.
We may provide updates, patches and new versions, and the App may download and install them automatically. Some updates are required: to keep using cloud features, to accept updated legal terms, or to fix security issues, you may have to install the current version. Older versions may stop working with our services without notice.
The App includes open-source software and models licensed under their own terms. Those terms are listed in the App under Settings → About → Open-source licences and apply to those components in place of this EULA.
This EULA lasts until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach it, if your account is closed under the Consumer Terms of Service, or if we withdraw the App. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the App and deleting all copies. On termination you must stop using the App and delete it, and Sections 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 survive.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". The disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability and indemnity in Section 14 of the Consumer Terms of Service apply to the App and to this EULA as if set out here in full. In particular, Outputs produced by on-device Models may be inaccurate and must be verified before you rely on them.
The App may be subject to United States export control and sanctions laws. You may not download or use it where that is prohibited, and you confirm you are not on a United States restricted-party list. If you use the App on behalf of a United States government agency, it is "commercial computer software" provided with only the rights granted to all other users under this EULA.
